About the program

During the Business Administration program from Marist College responsible manager and leader. You’ll start with core business courses in marketing, human resource management, finance, operations management, organizational behavior, and law. Then you’ll choose an area of emphasis–international business, finance, marketing, human resource management, or entrepreneurship. Or, you can work with your advisor to construct a customized emphasis.

You’ll enjoy active student organizations, competitions, internships, and study abroad at our Florence, Italy branch campus or another location. You’ll take advantage of special programs at the Raymond A. Rich Institute for Leadership Development and the Greystone Student Investment Fund.

Values-driven management is a particular interest for Marist faculty and students. Ethics Week is an important part of every semester, with students and professionals from business actively discussing timely and relevant ethical issues for business management.

Mission

The mission of the Marist Business Administration program is to provide a high-quality, professional education in a supportive, interactive, and personalized environment. The program is designed to provide our business graduates with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become effective, socially responsible leaders in today’s competitive and rapidly changing global business environment.

The goals of the School of Management’s undergraduate degree program in Business Administration are:

  • To provide a dynamic undergraduate business curriculum, based on a broad liberal arts education that includes an analytical business foundation, exposure to the breadth of the business discipline, and the depth of a primary area of emphasis.
  • To enhance excellence in business education by requiring students to use information and communications technology.
  • To provide coverage of ethical and global issues; exposure to the political, social, technological, legal, natural, and cultural environments of business; and coverage of diversity issues in business.
  • To provide a learning environment that incorporates basic written and oral communications skills in diverse areas of business.
  • To support quality teaching through appropriate faculty intellectual activities.
  • To instill in students an understanding of modern business theory and practice so that they are prepared for an entry-level job or for graduate school.
  • To instill in students the ability to think critically, work in a team, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
