Application Process for International
Application Process for Full-Time International Freshman Students
- A completed freshman application
- One additional letter of recommendation
- One personal essay
English Proficiency Exam results if you are a non-native English-speaking student. Marist accepts the TOEFL or the IELTS. - Official United States high school/secondary school transcripts if applicable and/or official translated high school/secondary school transcripts of all foreign academic credentials
- Official results of the SAT or ACT exam if you want the Admission Committee to consider your scores
- A $50 non-refundable application fee
Note: The English Proficiency Exam result requirement can be waived for students who have met any of the following criteria:
- Completed or are pursuing an International Baccalaureate Diploma
- Attained a minimum score of 500 on the SAT Critical Reading or Writing section
- Attended a U.S. or international school taught in English for a minimum of four years without any English as a Second Language courses
- TOEFL – Students must submit a minimum score of 550 on the paper based TOEFL exam or a 213 on the computer based TOEFL or an 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL exam
- IELTS – Students must submit a minimum score of 6.5
Note: All test scores must come directly from the Testing Service to Marist College. The Marist report code is 2400. Scores must be less than two years old from the first day of class of the proposed term of entry.

- Early Decision: November 15th
- Early Action: November 15th
- Regular Decision: February 1st
Application Process for Full-Time International Transfer Students
- A completed transfer application
- One letter of recommendation
- One personal essay
- Provide a list of courses currently in progress and include the course numbers
- English Proficiency Exam results if you are a non-native English-speaking student. Marist accepts the TOEFL or the IELTS.
- Official United States high school/secondary school transcripts if applicable and/or official translated high school/secondary school transcripts of all foreign academic credentials
- Official United States college or university transcripts if applicable and/or an official translation and credit evaluation of all foreign college or university credentials
- Official results of the SAT or ACT exam if you want the Admission Committee to consider your scores

Application Process for International Adult Students
- A completed adult application
- A resume and/or personal statement if required
- Official United States high school/secondary school transcripts if applicable and/or official translated high school/secondary school transcripts of all foreign academic credentials
- Official United States college or university transcripts if applicable and/or an official translation and credit evaluation of all foreign academic college or university credentials
- English Proficiency Exam results if you are a non-native English-speaking student. Marist accepts the TOEFL or the IELTS.

- Completed an International Baccalaureate Diploma

Application Process for International Graduate Students
- Complete the Marist Online Graduate Admission Application
- Pay the $50 non-refundable application fee
- Submit all prior official college transcripts indicating bachelor’s degree completion
- Submit required documents (letters of recommendations, resume, personal statement, and/or essay responses, GRE/GMAT scores) if required.
- Submit official United States college or university transcripts if applicable and/or an official evaluation of all foreign academic credentials (examination results and grade reports) that correspond to a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in the United States
Submit English Proficiency Exam results if applicable. One of the following exams is required for non-Native English-speaking students:
- TOEFL – Students must submit a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam or a 213 on the computer based TOEFL or an 80 on the Internet-based TOEFL exam
- IELTS – Students must submit a minimum score of 6.5
- PTE – Students must submit a minimum score of 58
The English Proficiency Exam requirement can be waived for students who have met any of the following criteria:
- Completed an International Baccalaureate Diploma
- Completed one academic year studying at a United States college or university
- Attended a U.S. or international school taught in English for a minimum of four years without any English as a Second Language courses
